Kids' Kata Competition

24 brave kids, in two catagories, 7-9 and 10-12 performed Naihanchi Shodan. Below, the contestants with Iha Sensei showing off their participation medals. Left, in front of the judges. Right, finalists.

 

 

Demonstration Team NTS 2003

Preparing to begin the Demonstration after being introduced and performing their entry drills (see below).

Left - Each of the groups, based on their rank, performed a kata to music. Here the middle ranks are doing Pinan Shodan in a ripple drill. The lower ranking group performed Kihon Kata Four and the highest group did Kusanku Sho in a double line facing each other. It was pretty thrilling to watch the jump going between the lines!.
The Kids entered in pairs and performed a quick kumite type drill. The Orange belt is about to duck under a crescent kick before throwing her partner..
